Amber Heard’s lawyers made a last-ditch effort to have the case dismissed.
Right before Amber Heard’s team began presenting its case Tuesday, a Virginia judge denied a request made by her attorneys to dismiss Johnny Depp’s defamation case against her. Amber’s lawyer argued Johnny Depp did not present adequate evidence to prove that Amber Heard defamed Johnny Depp.
In response to these statements, Johnny Depp’s team opposed the request for dismissal on grounds that his client provided:
“multiple credible witnesses, documents and authentic tape recordings … not only satisfying all the elements of his claim for defamation, including actual malice but also going the extra mile of showing that [Heard] physically abused him.”
Judge Penney Azcarate denied the request from Amber Heard. She said that with regard to the: “motion to strike at this juncture, I (Judge Penney Azcarate) find the evidence most favorable to the plaintiff,” adding that “the weight of that evidence is up to the fact-finders.”
She said that for now, the trial would go on as planned.
Why does Amber Heard want to avoid the witness box?
Amber Heard worked “hard” to portray herself as a saint and a victim of domestic abuse. She also wished to keep the cameras out of the courtroom, perhaps knowing well that not everything that was said had truly happened. We will never know. But one thing is for sure:
Narcissists are prone to humiliation because of being sensitive to criticism. Their grandiose self-image is crucial to them and they often feel above everyone else and everything.
Amber Heard cannot control public opinion anymore.
Narcissists will happily take responsibility for the things they deem worthy, especially when it provides an opportunity to be the center of attention. However, Amber Heard is getting negative PR.
Johnny Depp’s testimony and his witnesses have wounded Amber Heard’s image as a victim. Therefore, when a narcissist feels threatened and feels as if he or she is losing power over others, they will do all in their power to escape from all liability.
How?
In Amber Heard’s situation by trying to dismiss the case and avoid taking the witness stand. Unfortunately for her, it didn’t work out. She had to take the stand.
Narcissists believe they are above everyone else, including the law!

How do narcissists try to avoid responsibilities?
Even though I am focusing on narcissists. Several other personality disordered individuals, some of these tactics as well: histrionic, borderline, or obsessive-compulsive.
- They victimize themselves to other people.
These individuals will play the “poor me” game. They will tell everyone they know how they have “been wronged” by you. They will make fiction seem like reality to others. Most of the time, they will mirror what they did to you, and act as if it happened to them. Because they are well aware of the crap that they have put you through, they already have the information to talk about how it “happened to them”.
- They start a smear campaign.
Narcissists will do everything in their power to put you down, demean you, and destroy your reputation with other people. They will use any piece of private information that they have about you and twist the truth into something that will make you look like a “devil”. This is how they feed on other people’s compassion.
- They blame the victim.
By blaming others, often the ones that they hurt (their primary target), the narcissist proves that it’s not their fault, but it is the fault of the person who they’ve hurt. The victim deserved it, therefore the narcissist did nothing wrong.
- They “run as fast as they can” when they sense a threat.
Amber Heard wished to dismiss the case. To put it bluntly, to make it disappear as if nothing has ever happened. Johnny Depp’s legal team put on powerful arguments that thwarted Amber’s plans to escape the witness box.
After all, Johnny Depp, who stood up for victims of domestic abuse, regardless of gender, has confronted Amber and came “clean” about many traumatic and sensitive issues. Johnny Depp’s lawyer spoke made a statement that shook the entire nation:
She (Amber Heard) is the abuser in this courtroom!

Johnny Depp’s team has put Amber Heard in a position where she has to take a stand and accept the consequences of her actions and words. Lack of responsibility is the main reason why narcissists disappear.
Unfortunately, you cannot rewrite the history, even though Amber Heard would wish to do so. Too little, too late.
